SIPatH is an Open Source Project aiming on making your Broadcom based hardware router a fully qualified VoIP Router.
This is tried to be accomplished by an approach consisting of three steps:
1. Flashing the Router with OpenWrt Linux
2. Configuring OpenWrt and installing the SIPatH packages
3. Setting the SIPatH Router IP as the Outbound Proxy in your IP Phones Config Interface

MSNs had a nice little flurry of news lately, and theyve been playing some of it Google-style low-key, letting the industry watchers spread the word (or am I just all google-eyed thinking MSNs copying Google here?).

France Telecom has launched its first combined UK fixed and mobile package by offering its Orange customers a wireless broadband and VoIP service from sister company Wanadoo for GBP9.99 a month. Wireless & Talk offers new and existing Orange customers Wanadoo’s 2Mbps broadband package with its Livebox VoIP service for between 50% and 200% less than that offered by broadband rivals BT, Tiscali and AOL. The deal has been launched in conjunction with a new promotion offering a 50% discount on Orange’s 3G mobile service for the first six months of a twelve-month contract.

Worldwide wireless LAN switch ports jumped 52% to 170,000, and revenue grew 55% to $80.8 million between the first and second quarters of 2005 and is expected to top $735 million by 2008, according to Infonetics Researchs quarterly report, Wireless LAN Equipment.

The acceptance of VoIP into the mainstream moved up a gear today with the release of a DECT VoIP handset, the plain-badly-named EV5203-C, from Thomson, the _huge_ French all-encompassing media company. The product is the first fruit from Thomsons purchase of Inventel, earlier this year.
